Staff Bio's

Hi my name is Samantha Symons, Everyone calls me Sam.
I would just like to thank you for coming to our site. Please have a look around and if you like what you see; call or email me for a chat, or arrange a time to come view one of our centres.
So you want to know a bit about me? After leaving School I worked for four years at Waikato Hospital, in both medical and administration roles, there I received first aid training. I left the hospital in 2010 as my husband and I were expecting our first child; Malachi. You may see him running around at Neon sometimes. He loves playing with the other kids!
I really enjoy drama and creative pursuits like story telling and acting.
My passion for Neon is that it is and will always be a safe, encouraging place for Kids from all walks of life to come to and feel equal. My hope is that the Children who attend Neon will be impacted in positive ways by those they meet here and the lessons they learn that they will carry with them into adulthood.
When I get spare time, I tend to spend it with my Family and friends or planning exciting new things for Neon. I am a bit of a sci-fi nerd and enjoy movies and TV. I also love expressing myself through creative makeup and hair. I also do special effects and stage makeup for friends, weddings and theatre shows. in 2016 i was busy doing the makeup for Musikmakers; "Disney's Beauty and the Beast" at Riverlea Theatre and Stories and more's; "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" at the Meteor Theatre. In 2015 i did the makeup for Musikmakers production of "Spamalot" at Riverlea Theatre and Little shop of horrors in 2014.
In November 2015 i had my second Child Emmy and i have taken a step back from "in Centre" management and focusing on running both our Centres while up-skilling the fantastic staff we have.
I am also currently studying some theological papers through Carey Baptist College.
